RCD510 not dimming

Post by alanstead »

Hi, I've been noticing that my RCD510 doesnt dim immediately at night anymore. before, I would get in the car at night and when you started up the RCD510 would come on nice and dull. Now you get in and start up and the unit is on full daytime brightness and after about 5 minutes will gradually dull down to the night setting. I have gone into settings and changed the brightness settings but this only affects the day light settings. Not the end of the world, but annoying. just wondered if anyone else is suffering this?

You do realise Alan that this is the type of fault that many of us could have quite happily have gone on using our Rocs for months without ever noticing it even existed.
Now you've brought it to everyone's attention we are all going to be looking out for it next time we're out in the dark.
Thanks. :D

I've noticed recently that my RDC510 is really dim first thing of the morning (when on the brightest setting). It must be the cold weather, as it takes about 15 mins for it to warm up and get to the correct brightness

Ive noticed that as well - I think its something to do with the LCD crystals warming up after a long sleepy night out in the cold... Mine warms up after a couple of minutes though...

Odd that mine is opposite to you guys, super bright in the morning when cold and dark, then slowly dims after 5 minutes or so! No probs Zephyr, happy problem finding and a happy christmas too!! :)
