Dedicated DRL
I have '09 2.0 TSI with Bi-Xenon with dedicated DRLs. Unfortunately DRLs were disabled originally since I live in Japan. I am trying to activate them (this is not illegal here in Japan) but so far only dipped beams (or Fog Lights) are activated when I change DRL North Ameica or Scandinavia mode ON by VAG-COM. Static Cornering Lights are working well. Is there anyway I can activate dedicated DRL ? Please help.

Re: Dedicated DRL
I just used the indicator stalk to turn the Bi-Xenon DRL on / off as described in the manual. The method is also posted on the forum somewhere.

Re: Dedicated DRL
Thank you for your advise.
I have tried 'Right Turn >> High Beam >> Ignition ON' method, but it was not successful.
As I wrote when I changed VAG-COM setup (it was off originally), I could turn on only low beams or fog lights as DRL but not dedicated ones. I guess there is some setup parameter to activate dedicated DRL ramps.

Re: Dedicated DRL
I remember someone had done factory reset in the multi function display, and that had reactivated the DRL's which they had previously had turned off by there dealer. Maybe worth a try?

Re: Dedicated DRL
Did you turn your headlight switch to the off position first before trying the method? I tried the method as described in the manual and it didn't work a couple of times. Then i noticed one post on the forum mentioned moving the headlight switch to the off position then sure enough it worked.Kurocco wrote:Thank you for your advise.

Thank you for your advice.
I have reset MFI and tried Stalk method by setting light switch to off again.
But it did not work.
(MFI reset now activated Rain Close Menu. It did not show up before reset after changing code by VAG-COM. Interesting.)

Re: Dedicated DRL
the factory reset was what i did before because i could not activate it with any other way using the headlight switch, my dealer deactivated it according to some policy.
