Scirocco import from Germany

Post by bichti@gmail.com »

Hi,

I am thinking of buying a new Scirocco in Germany (parents live there) and then register it here in the UK. I am sure I'd have to switch the head lights over. Anyone know if that is a matter of flicking a switch in the headlights somewhere or are we talking new head light units?

Thx

Valeo makes the original VW headlights and they have different models headlamp for left and right drivers. As far as I can see from the catalog, then no wires are involved.

I would venture a guess that it is only the glass prism that differs.

Then there's the minor detail of it being a left hooker

I've heard that you get a much better spec in the UK than in Germany.
What's the advantage of getting one from Germany ?

don't forget the Euros too, may impact the price.

UK is one of the cheapest countries to buy a Roc, judging from another thread within this forum about how much a Roc would cost in other countries.

i remember seeiing something when i was in the UAE yesterday, like 23,000 USD for a std. 2.0 version. With petrol sooo cheap there, they don;t stock small or deisel engines. Of course, there is no VAT in the gulf...
