Car is currently at the dealers they will be looking at the wipers! Interesting thing is they gave a a brand new Jetta as a loan car and it has the identical wiper smear issue. Not sure what to make of that....

Picked up the car tonight about 7pm looks like my wiper issue has been resolved on first impressions!

I didnt have a chance to speak to the service manager due to the pickup time, but it would appear that increasing the tension on the wiper arms has resolved the issue. Fingers crossed...

PS I got away for £94 not a bad price for a first service.

Update on the wiperblades.co.uk replacements: There is now a very faint smear in heavy rain. It is still a massive improvement over the stock wipers but not quite as good as I first thought.

Have to report that I have at last got my wipers fixed by VW last week with VW modified parts.

After the rain this week I can report that I have no smear!!!

I was not expecting them to change them or if "modified" parts where real but from what I remember from the "old" parts, it looks like the design of the arms and the rubber have been changed!!

I was told that they are replacement parts but it was not a "recall" change... guess only for people that shout enough get them??

Although at the same time I was told that the "gear box software" (DSG) was updated and now my paddles do not work on my steering wheel.....!

Back to VW but I have no smear...
