Setup Menu - Second Speed Display
Well the menu says it should exist but it isn't there on my 2010 GT!
Basically I want my second speed reading to be in MPH rather than KMH - is this disabled in the UK?
Thanks
Mary
Setup Menu - Second Speed Display
Re: Setup Menu - Second Speed Display
Hi Mary
the second speed display acts as a safety feature showing kph in case you go to the continent & need to know your speed in kph rather than mph (& can't work out the conversion quick enough
maybe someone can tell us if in countries using kph their second speed display shows mph??

Re: Setup Menu - Second Speed Display
Hi Mary
It's directly in the Setup menu, somewhere near the bottom,
look for Alt.Spd.Disp or something like that
You need to check the box then exit the setup menu
You should now see the alternative speed in the band where the outside temperature used to be displayed
Trix, you're absolutely right, mines a European model so the clocks are in kmh and the alternate speed is shown in mph
Should be handy in November when I come back to blighty to visit Mumsy

Mine aint got cars, dont think you can change it on uk spec, they all seem to have the kph display cos its not on the speedo ring. Uk cars dont have it where the temp is displayed, its below that.

Re: Setup Menu - Second Speed Display
Just to make sure we're all talking about the same thing here
Firstly, I'm talking about the MY2010 with the white display, it may be different for the red display
There are two different digital speed displays that can be shown on the computer but you can only have one at a time
I've got a euro spec car so I have the speedo dial in kmh
In the MFD menu I can display fuel consumption, range etc. and also a digital speed readout in kmh - this one I can not change to mph
In the Setup menu I can select an Alternative speed display, which in my case is in mph - this is for when you are abroad - this one I can not change to kmh
If I activate the alternative speed display (mph), then cycle through the MFD readings, the digital speed in kmh is no longer available even though the range, journey time & the averages etc. are
Also when the alternative speed display (mph) is activated it stays visible whilst I have the GPS information on the computer which is quite cool
Hope this is clear

Re: Setup Menu - Second Speed Display
I have a speed display whilst the display shows MPG, Range, etc. This is stuck on KMH and would be better on MPH
I do not have and cannot get to a second speed display but would like that as well.
Does anyone know whether this second speed display can be activated by a dealer or is it disabled for a reason in the UK?

Re: Setup Menu - Second Speed Display
Hi K10, not sure if he dealer can activate it or not. The reason UK cars have this Km/h readout is because the speedo only has Mp/h on it. I assume its a legal requirement for the car to display both mph and kmh in the uk as every mainstream car I have ever been in in the UK has both on the speedo. The reading we get on UK cars is not the second speed display that Nobby talks about, this option is not available in the menu on UK cars, but if your dealer can activate this for you, let everyone know. My cars going in for warranty work on Monday, so if the guy doing the work is in a good mood I'll ask him about it.
