Hi
My first post …
(Bought 3months ago a 12plate tdl blue motion…. Love it too much!!!)
Thanks for this helpful forum
So I finally found and bought the genuine vw roof bars on eBay … they’re as rare as hens teeth … and incidentally vw have now stopped making them ( £400 from the dealer)
However … I need an adjusting tool to fit them which the seller didn’t have.
Any shared knowledge/experience on this?
I think there are a variety of tools according to the teeth of the nut …
I’ve tried to attach a photo to this post to help
I also need to replace the rubber that goes along the channel in the Centre of the bars that cushion the roof bars load, I’ve a feeling that may be challenging too.
Thanks again for everything shared here

Re: Vw roof bars adjusting tool
You might get lucky and find one but I doubt it. What I would do is take each side apart individually and swap the bolt out with something else with the same thread, maybe a hex bolt will do it.
