Tyres

Post by Piglet13 »

Just picked up my new to me Scirocco which needed two front tyres. They’ve fitted R17s whilst the rear ones are ZR17s. Is this ok or should they be the same, bearing in mind it’s front wheel drive?

I'm sure they'll be fine but you need to provide more information on what's written on the tyre, for example

ZR is the older way of saying it’s a high performance tyre capable of higher speeds than 149mph. The R bit is retained as it means it’s a radial tyre. Your new tyres probably have the letter later in the tyre code e.g. W, Y etc.
