Exterior Rubber Trims/Seals

I read that some of you suggested the following for bring up the black of the rubbers
1. Gummi Pflege
2. Shoe Polish


Wondering if you have other suggestions to clean, darken, restore, and maintain the exterior rubbers/trims around the car.
Anything we need to be careful when doing so? Like must avoid touching the paint and etc.

I've only heard good things about Gummi Pflege mate, that stuffs made for rubber seals rather than shoe polish
