Alternator Overunning Pulley

Post by Andyco »

Hi,
I was having problems with charging with my Scirocco 2.0 tdi and had a recon alternator fitted. Unfortunately thus didn't work so took it to a specialist who replaced both the battery an alternator which has fixed the problem. Unfortunately they removed the pulley from the old aternator, as such I'm not able to return the unit for a refund. I bought a replacement pulley - part no ok according to eurocarparts but it fouls the alternator case.
Should there be a spacer installed ?
Any help gratefully recieved.

Sorry don't know the answer to your question but I wouldn't trust the information from EuroCarParts regarding the part number for the pulley being correct. I would double check from another source as ECP information is notorious for being incorrect

Seems to be the case with ECP.
Their website did suggest a non stop/start alternator for my stop/start variant.
