Retrofitting speedometer

Post by lukasvrb13 »

HI,

I'm interested in retrofitting my Scirocco's "mk5 golf" style speedometer "mk6" style. Does everything fit the same, does it need to be programmed or maybe it needs some kind of adaptors? Maybe it's simply impossible to do? Looking forward to hear your thoughts on this:)

Thanks:)

Hey!
I am doing a similar project, only with the new Virtual Cockpit solution fount on the mk 7.5 etc.

All models from mk6 and up are based on an entirely new platform called the MQB, where our scirocco and mk5 golfs are on a PQ platform. When it comes to the speedo, the difference is that the PQ type speedo accepts analog signals, where the MQB type seems to use digital signals. As for now, there is no availible solutions, but a small company in Netherland called Vd-Veer engineering, is making a "Cockpit controller" that can convert the older PQ signal to MQB. It is not finished yet, but it seems they are close to release.

cheers!
