Misfiring in top gear when cold'ish?

Post by jonstrauss »

Afternoon all.
Scirocco R 2011.

Engine just started misfiring but only seems to be in 6th when I floor it from 3000rpm. It splutters and isn't the transmission as it goes away when hot.
This happened on the motorway when the oil temp wasn't quite up to normal, about 65 degrees....then went away when got to operating temperature. It was totally consistent every time I floored it. Then disappeared.

It's just had a new set of injectors and plugs.
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot.

Could be a coilpack beginning to fail. As normal, first thing to do is to see which, if any, fault codes are stored.
