Bluetooth/head unit
Hello guys
Just got a 2010 scirocco and it doesn’t have the Bluetooth enabled.
I am wondering what the best route to go down .... do I buy one or the modules or do I go for an aftermarket head unit ?
I’d like to be able to answer calls etc but I would like to be able to listen to my podcasts too.

Re: Bluetooth/head unit
I have fitted a RCD330 Plus. Has CarPlay Bluetooth. Call quality is perfect. Spotify works a treat. Take look. They cost £210 for the NONAME version which can be updated. It’s OEM fitted to Chinese VWs. I was hit with £91 import tax but still worth it. I have full Siri integration. Mine also supports Android if you need it.

Re: Bluetooth/head unit
I was actually looking at this one
Is it easy to install ?
I was thinking about adding a reversing camera on mine , can this be done via Bluetooth or does it need a physical connection back to the unit ?
I’m guessing it doesn’t have DAB?
Do you have a picture of it installed in yours

It needs a cable. If you are buying this you can get it with the camera as it needs to be the compatible one.
I modified mine so I don’t have cables going into the front.

That looks good .... I’m guessing the mod you’ve done is where the usb is going just below the gear stick?
Does the phone have to be plugged in via the usb all of the time ? Or can you do things over BT

Re: Bluetooth/head unit
You can have Bluetooth connected to use the phone and stream music but anything to do with CarPlay it must be plugged in via USB.

Re: Bluetooth/head unit
I’ve not tried podcasts. So long as the app is CarPlay comparable it’s will work.
Yes. All but the newest cars a cable. You can buy an adapter but that needs to plug in and will be in the front hanging down unless you do what I did

Re: Bluetooth/head unit
I think I’m going to go for it
Does the heated seats and air con settings still come through on it ?
Sorry for all of the questions - does it require any coding etc?

No coding was plug n play. You will lose the HVAC display but get reverse park pilot.

It’s just that. Reverse sensors with visual representation on the head unit
