Has anyone fitted a vented carbon or fiberglass bonnet?

Talk about general things related to the new VW Scirocco in here.

Has anyone fitted a vented carbon or fiberglass bonnet?

Post by thewhiterider »

Just looking for advice on the fit, where I might be best ordering from.. Whether I'd be better off with carbon or fiberglass etc

Also wonder how vented bonnets get on in the rain, bit worried about rain getting into the engine bay

Thanks!

There was a guy who had a Carbon fiber bonnet. Think his fitted perfectly.

As for vents on the bonnet, well of course you would get water into the engine.

Cool thanks.. I've messaged a couple of chaps from threads who have fitted them so basically the info I'm looking for is whether a pre facelift bonnet will fit a facelift. I'm gonna call euro car parts or someplace and ask if the part numbers are the same. I'm a smart cookie

But yeah it's purely cosmetic so as for the rain I could just block the vents up or figure something out.

Might not end up going through with this I just thought it would look rad

You can compare the part numbers of pre-facelift and facelift bonnets on the following site;

Cheers for the link, doesn't seem to offer me a part number for the bonnet, could be cause they are the same.

Euro car parts site says the part numbers are the same.. Just puzzles me why most sellers say 2008 to 2014 only.. Weird

For some reason the OEM PC site is playing up. You should be able to click on the bonnet and it will give a parts breakdown and all the associated part numbers.

I certainly wouldn't trust Euro Car Parts as they are notorious for compatability errors. I would trust your local TPS, if they will furnish you with the information. They can be a bit funny at times.

Vents has been done before, Id just be cautious of it being parked up in head rain etc
