Folding mirrors

Post by Chrisy »

Hi everybody
As I'm new to the world of being a Scirocco owner, I need a little help. I have a 1.4tsi 2009 plate, I have the symbol on the door mirror switch to fold them in and they look like they fold. After some investigation can't find the folding mirror option on the dashboard screen in the convinance tab. How would I go about to resolve this issue.

There is no option for folding mirrors in the MFD convenience settings. If you have the option then you simply rotate the switch to the fold position and they fold in and to get them to return you rotate the switch to any of the other positions.

If you have the option then the rotary mirror switch will have 5 positions which are "fold", "heating", "L", "0", "R" and if not the switch has 4 positions with the fold symbol omitted.

Cheers for that, must be a motor or modem problem, as switch has got the 5 positions on it.

If you have the 5 position switch then they should work, assuming a previous owner hasn't replaced the switch with the wrong one. Another way of confirming is that the electric folding mirrors have puddle lights that shine underneath.

If neither mirror is folding then it's unlikely to be a motor problem as you would have to be really unlucky for both motors to fail.
