car stuck at 3k revs?

Post by tyler1902 »

new to here and i cant seem to find a solution to my problem on internet.

been to the garage and and had a dyno test as my car wont rev over 3k no lights are popping up to indicate a issue and garage is telling me its around £2810.00 +VAT which im finding hard to believe (100%) trying to rip me off.

he also wont show me the errors that are popping up but i could see p10a4.

some times the car wont let me go above 3k on any gears and then when i go away and come back i find it then goes back to normal and i have no issues.

someone help :(

Take it to another garage, preferably a VAG specialist, for a second opinion.

It's a known 1.4 tsi problem, nothing so dramatic as your garage suggests.
Either get it to another place, as Cuprabob said, or you can read this: https://www.volkswagenforum.co.uk/showt ... hp?t=31823" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Cheers!

Just to confirm, you aren't trying to rev it in neutral, while stopped as there is a low rev limit to protect the engine under no load?

If not and it's happening while driving then take it back to the garage that diagnosed the faulty throttle body as it sounds as if they haven't fixed the original issue.

You didn't read the topic I gave you. The guys over vwforum are talking about the J808 valve, aka the supercharger control flap, not the throttle body.
