re-position headlights

Post by blz-8027 »

Took my headlights out to change both bulbs, and have a general clean up in the area

When re-fitting how do you position them in the right place ,the hole at the front and rear with the long bolt is a lot bigger than the bolt, allowing movement of the light unit ,
ive tried to get back as to where they were based on the clean bits ,but they could move either way
should there be an insert that goes in the hole before the bolt ?

Lining up with the clean bit is probably as good as you can get it. I'm guessing the flexibility in the positioning is so that the lights can be properly aligned with the bodywork.

Probably the worst that can happen is they'll need an alignment tweak during your next MOT.

Yes but ill have to tell them to move the headlight, not just adjust the screw
