Hi there guys, I'm brand new to this forum and just wanted to ask a question
Okay, so I recently bought my 2009 VW Scirocco 1.4 TSI (160) and i love it, the way it handles and the power is spot on
About 2 months ago I had a problem with misfires, and just reading around the forum I heard coils was a normal cause, so I went to work (I work at Mercedes-Benz) and took a diagnosis, and sure enough it was a misfire so I ordered new coils and plugs.
After changing the plugs and coils I never had any problem with misfires whatsoever, but I also noticed a strange "poofing" sound in the exhaust (sounds like unburned fuel being burned in the exhaust), the lights are dimming slightly and the car is "jumping" at random times, only at idle though. I also have unburned fuel popping when I rev it quickly to 3-4k RPM.
None of this effects the actual driving, it's only when the car is at a standstill..
There is no fault code whatsoever, does anybody have any experience with this? I look forward to hearing your answers and spending more time in this forum I'm the future
Sorry btw for the bad grammar, I'm from Norway

Re: "poofing" sound in exhaust
Possible leaking injector....however with this particular engine, i would do a compression test first to rule out other issues.
Re: "poofing" sound in exhaust
I actually had a VW workshop check it, the compression was exactly what it was supposed to be, so guessing it would be a injector then..
