Audio options.

Post by TDiNumpty »

I want to upgrade the sound system in my Rocco and wanted some advice. 2 options I am thinking of is getting the Dynaudio upgrade or just replacing the standard speakers with something else. I like the standard headunit it does everything I need. Sound isn't bad really, until you turn it up and it distorts to hell. I also want to hardwire a dashcam in. Any opinions or guides are welcome. Thanks.

Its a bit pointless upgrading to dynoaudio as an aftermarket upgrade. There are lots of other better/cheaper systems and options you could take.

One option would be to get a 3 channel amplifier. You can then amplify the existing speakers in the front and with a 3 channel amplifier you can then get a subwoofer in the future if you wanted. There's not much point in amplifying the rear speakers.

If you're going to amplify the front speakers I would also upgrade them at the same time. Focal and JL audio are decent.

Why amp the front stock speakers?

Cost?

I would always upgrade the speakers that I'm amplifying as the capacitor on the tweeter can get overloaded.

Never upgraded speakers before.
Usually just add a sub and amp.

I'm interested in upgrading the sounds too. When I turn up to another half way it gets all loose. Not sure which to do first amp or speakers, I would imagine the speakers are shite

stock speakers are actually not that bad at all. Just very under powered. This is due to the stock head unit. Changing the head unit to an aftermarket one would see and improvement in sound. Installing an amp would see a further improvement. New speakers, an amp and sub would see the most improvement.

I have Hertz speakers all round, hertz amp and pheonix gold 12inch sub and a vibe amp powering it.

It's a bit bodged at the minute as one of the phono's has broken so have bridged it on the amp so the rear speakers are being bridged to the front so all of the speakers at least work. but it sounds pretty good

Miles better than the stock system.
