Scott does the vent trim come off the the vent it's self as I thought it was all one item

Sorry for the delay!
From my understanding the trim around the vents closest to the door cards can be simply pulled out!
When the two vents by the headunit require you to remove the headunit trim, slide the headunit out and above where the headunit sits are two screws holding the vents in. I don't think the silver trim around these vents can be removed (without gluing it back on) so it would be a case of painting the unit then re-installing.

If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will let us all know, best of luck!
