Fuse location forgotten

Post by youngy »

A mate helped hard-wire in my Nextbase dash cam, past few days have had battery drain so he removed the wire. But has now forgotten which fuse it piggy backs on, does anyone know from the pics below? I know it's a long shot but any help would be really appreciated. Is a scirocco tdi 170 dsg 60reg

The fourth image down in this thread shows similar http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... =25&t=7403" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If so it looks like it wants to go to the left of the bottom blue one. Or to the right of the yellow on in the row above.

According to the post in the same thread timed at 23:42 this would be fuse 43 (left of blue) or fuse 37 (right of yellow).

To work out which can you use the list of fuses a few lines down, not sure of your model year. This says (for both MYs) fuse 43 not used and fuse 37 is seat heating. So obvious question does you seat heating work with the piggy back fuse holder out? If it doesn't then I'd guess it wants to go in fuse 37. Not too sure why the photo says fuse 43 not used when there is a fuse in the slot in the photo.

But test it all carefully. If you don't feel comfortable get an auto electrician in. In the unlikely event your car blows up I'm taking no responsibility.

Thanks for your reply, I've spent some time looking at that thread thanks. The numbering diagram is mirrored, so row 5 is fuse 34 (lumbar support) and row 6 is fuse 42 (sockets 12v)

I don't have lumbar support in my seats so guessing it must be 42.

With it out the dash throws an 'ESP' warning, put yellow 42 back in and it's clear now.

Now to find if that is what's draining the battery

Thanks for your help.

Take one of the top fuses 1-6 to connect your dashcam, they are switched on ignition.
