Aux and Media problem

Post by Garyb12 »

Became a scirocco owner on Friday, lovely car, but on my long drive home unnoticed a few issues,

The 'Aux in' port doesn't work, tried a few different cables but no matter what I do I can't get music to play through the aux,

And the media output in the centre console doesn't seem to have any power whatsoever, whether I'm using the USB adapter or the old style iPod charger, I should've really checked this before coughing up the money,

And one final thing, I'm unable to connect my phone via Bluetooth either for music or phone, is this an extra that need to be 'unlocked' but a dealership?

Thank you very much for reading

Look forward to any answers

Bluetooth was a cost option on a 2009 car. It only became standard in late 2011.There are numerous threads on the subject and how it can be retrofitted. Basically you need to buy an external module or replace the headunit for one with integrated Bluetooth.

With regards to the "Aux-in", have you enabled it on the headunit?

There should be power at the MDI port when the ignition is switched on. If not you have a fault.

Yeah it's enabled on the head unit and tried all the settings with the aux in settings, might have to be a dealer job

Checked fuses and there are no fuses positions in the manual that would suggest its for the centre console,

any help would be appreciated,

You can get OEM bluetooth from VW retrofit on facebook https://www.facebook.com/vwretrofit

I'm going up there in a couple of weeks to get it fitted on mine - £190 all in.
