60 plate with RNS510
Hi guys.. rang the stealers up as I want Bluetooth fitted to my rns510. They basically said it can't be fitted to my car.
They offered a separate unit that sits on the dash. I don't want that. Grrr
I just want a kit that will work and no pissing about.
Any info would be greatful. Also if there is a solution is there anyone in the north east that's knows anyone who could fit it?
Cheers guys

Re: 60 plate with RNS510
You can definitely retrofit it, you need a stand alone unit for the RNS though, it does not sit on the dash and is fully integrated.
Aside from this you can get a Dension bluetooth unit, works the same as OEM!
I'm no expert but have been looking into this myself lately (i have a friend who installed and coded the OEM bluetooth to his Scoda)

Yep, or go the OEM route, get a standard VW bluetooth module, harness etc. and install that! May well be the cheaper option? Someone else will probably be able to provide more information!

The money is not really the issue, I just wanna give someone the money to do it [emoji23]STEVIE-B wrote:Bigpete261 wrote:So.. basically I can buy a Bluetooth unit (dension, fiscon or whatever) and can be fitted by someone who knows that they are doing?STEVIE-B wrote:You can definitely retrofit it, you need a stand alone unit for the RNS though, it does not sit on the dash and is fully integrated.

I've looked around the north east to get someone to do it but can't find anyone.

Re: 60 plate with RNS510
I retrofitted the very latest genuine OEM Bluetooth module into my 2009 Scirocco.
Costs around £200 (which in hindsight is a bit mad, when you can buy a whole new head unit with bluetooth, DAB, nav etc all included for not much more) but obviously it's all nicely integrated with the head unit and steering wheel controls and all.
Requires:
- Bluetooth module and harness (think mine is version M), http://www.carsystems.pl/vw-bluetooth-k ... d1737.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for example
- VAGCOM/VCDS for coding it in
Just a case of plugging it all in and running wires down the pillar from the mic then.
Tutorial is here: http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... 38&t=17174" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks mate. Appreciate that.
How do I know which kit to buy? You said yours was version M?

Yeah sorry I couldn't find the exact one I bought for sale, either they've changed the part numbers or it's just not available anymore I'm not sure, just looked up mine though and the number is: 7P6035730MBigpete261 wrote:Thanks mate. Appreciate that.

Have a look on their, that's the Scirocco specific bluetooth section, in the description for each it generally tells you what models/years it's compatible with. Almost all of them seem to now include the WIFI hotspot which wasn't too common when I bought mine last year. whether you can actually retrofit that and have it fully working I'm not sure, I would imagine the bluetooth part is all the same...

This is the complete kit and the very latest version complete with hotspot, only requirements seem to be the white or multicolour speedo display, which I imagine you have on a 2010.

Re: 60 plate with RNS510
I went to purchase the one from the Scirocco section... the kit had 730D on the end. The one you put link for had E on the end.
I'll happily pay the 299 but could you just confirm which is the exact one I need. Again sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: 60 plate with RNS510
Can't see Skoda anywhere other than in the main navigation? That came from the Scirocco specific section, though the kits probably are universal across all the latest VAG cars.Bigpete261 wrote:I went to purchase the one from the Scirocco section... the kit had 730D on the end. If it's like the older part numbers (went from A all the way to N I think), the E is just the later version of the D one, both will likely have the same functionality but may be more efficient at connecting etc, latest bluetooth version. Figured I'd link the E version as it was the same price as the D and supposedly the very latest.
Again I cannot confirm that it'll work but I'm 90% sure it will judging by the requirements on the product page. However you will absolutely need VCDS for it to work, have you got access to this?

Re: 60 plate with RNS510
Hmm that's annoying, you'll be able to plug it all in and wire it etc but until it's coded into your system using VCDS none of it will work at all. I've got it but I'm all the way at the bottom of Cornwall so unlikely to be close.Bigpete261 wrote:Nope but surely someone on here would know how or where I can go?charliegilmanuk wrote:Can't see Skoda anywhere other than in the main navigation? Might be worth asking if there's anyone local in the VCDS board?
