Hi,
Any ideas please.
I drive a 2011 Rocco R with 71k miles.
At idle I get a vibration that shakes the car but goes as soon as the revs build up. I took it to a friendly garage who I trust and have known for years and he said he thought it was the DMF. He has just replaced that put it all back together and the vibration is still there.
He is currently off to speak to a friend of his who works for VW, but does anyone here have any ideas?
Cheers
Mike

Hi,
Am not sure, I would have to check on that. The car is still at the garage.
I wasn't ticking over particularly slowly though.

Re: Vibration at idle
Check engine mounts. I assume it's not misfiring and the idle rpm is steady enough.

Re: Vibration at idle
Yes I will. I am going to the garage on Monday morning and so will discuss it then.
No it's not misfiring, everything else about the car is fine.
Many thanks for your suggestion, I will post again when it is sorted.

Re: Vibration at idle
Sorted! I have only had the car a short time and apparently the previous owner had fitted some kind of stabiliser to the engine mounts. It looked like a block of hard rubber that fitted over the engine mounts and held the engine solid, thus the vibration from the engine was felt throughout the car.
Once it was removed the vibration went.
Thank you everyone for your help

Re: Vibration at idle
Does it look like this? [emoji23] I have this engine mount insert installed for over a month now, the vibration is crazy when idle and in reverse but I'm used to it now... kinda...
I think the car feels more stable under acceleration so I will just live with the vibration...
