Limp mode, help needed please!
Turning my 1.4 2009 scirocco on this morning I found the engine management light on, got to work and cleared the alarm with my friends vagcom thing, took it out for a test drive but won't drive over 3000rpm and has gone into limp mode, I'm unsure what it could be, any ideas?

A10a4= air intake flap? Is that the throttle body or the swirl valve?

Done some research and it seems to be my throttle body,, cleared the alarm and it drives okay again now, gonna see if it comes back, if it does I might take it off and give it a clean before I think about replacing it

Having taken mine off recently, just to let you know its a bugger of a job to get to on this engine!
Some useful tips:
The air hose is really tight on the TB, it will help to spray some penetrant oil on the TB side to loosen it up once you have undone the clamp (which in itself can be tricky to access depending on the orientation of the grub screw)
It will be easier to access if you remove the whole intake with supercharger flow flap section that's in front of the TB. Trying to take the TB off is very difficult with that in place, infact to access some of the screws you will need to at least raise this section.
You can just clean it in situ - but again removing the air hose can be difficult in the cramped area, especially since you will need to remove the other end on the solid plastic pipe (or at least try to rotate it out of the way to gain access)

Okay thank you very much buddy for the help & advice ^^!! Think I'll take the whole intake off anyway as I looked at a layout and was like you said, hard to take off just the throttle body flap itself! Might attempt it later as this morning no alarm has come up but gone back into limp mode, so only thing I can try now is cleaning it
