1.4 tsi 160 reconditioned engine

Post by Ribas1972 »

Hello
I'm new at this forum.
I'm not scirocco proprietary but I'm Eos owner with 1.4 twin charged.

My Eos is a CAVD 2009 and in 2015 the 3 cylinder broke.

Volkswagen changed the engine with this one Image

Can anyone tell me if is CAVD or the new CTHD?

Because I changed engine in SET2015 probably I have the new ks pistons, not the problematic Malhle pistons, is this true?

And what about the injectors, are the new ones or is the same?

I'm asking this because the "new engine" receive parts of the old engine, like
Ignition coil, turbo, etc

Should I changed the coils and injectors?
The sparks have 20000km, this I would probably change.

This coil ignition is F version, should I change to G version?

I'm not having issues about misfires, after all it only have 8000km with this engine.

03C100091TX is a CAVD Engine.

With it being a 2015 manufacture - it should have the newer KS pistons.
Unless VW separately purchased new injectors, it will be using your old injectors as the new base engine doesn't come with injectors.
You maybe able to get a list of ordered parts from VW as part of the repair.

I wouldn't bother changing the coils unless you have issues. As for the injectors - maybe, if you don't change them just use a good intank injector cleaner such as forte on each service.
The primary difference between the old and new injectors is apparently the new ones are less prone to clogging.

Change the sparks as a precaution if they reused the old ones.

Thanks for the advice. For now I just use ron98 fuel and I will try a good injetor cleaner and in next service I will change the spark plugs.

This is my ordered pieces.

No injectors in that parts list - so you would be on the original ones. But yeah just drop some injector cleaner in once a year and stick to high octane fuel and you should be fine.
