2.0 TSI (2009, 80k miles).
Hi everyone,
So I just had my car remapped about 10 days ago.
No issues, then suddenly yesterday a tapping noise has started from the engine block.
No idea if the two events are related.
Tapping noise happens when hot and cold.
It gets faster and slightly louder with RPM, but doesn't do it in neutral (or could just be too quiet in neutral to hear).
Oil has been checked. Car is serviced regularly and looked after.
My first thought was the lifters? But I'm not entirely sure.
Has anyone has something similar? Local garage want it for a week to strip engine and identify the fault.
