09' scirocco carbon build up issue http://imgur.com/gallery/whCrz" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The 'before' pics were taken after the engine carbon clesn was performed. I can't help think its got a placebo effect on people like some wonder cure. It really needs a few spanners and some elbow grease!

Re: Rough running.
I think I have a similar problem but am unsure what it could be. As I accelerate it doesn't matter whether it is slowly or harsh between 2000rpm ish to when the turn kicks in there is a dull spot in the engine, there is then a noticeable difference (kick) when it goes back to normal. Any ideas what this could be please.
I have a 2009 2.0 TSI
Thanks in advance

Re: Rough running.
It could be a coilpack failing, faulty MAF or Lamda probe. First thing to do is have the car scanned to see what faults are logged, if any.

I had an error code a few weeks ago that was rated to an intermittent fault on the air inlet valves or something like that is that related to any of your suggestions or help with another solution. This engine management light has only come on once for this error

Re: Rough running.
No that's a different issue, which unfortunately is very common and normally requires an new inlet manifold. If your car is out of warranty and has a FVWSH it's worth trying to get some goodwill from VW as it's a known issue.

Re: Rough running.
I'm also having similar symptoms to what's been described here...rough/lumpy idle (no visible change in rpm but you feel it splutter) and then a full-on jolt under hard acceleration, but only intermittently.
Already changed all the coil packs - didn't make any difference. Will do plugs next. After that though, I fear it will have to be a trip to the garage. Really p***ed off as I've already had to pay to have the entire intake manifold replaced earlier this year.

Re: Rough running.
Changed all the plugs for NGK BKR7EIX, now running much smoother. The issue hasn't disappeared completely, but it's a lot better than before so it's bearable...for now.
