Tyre advice needed (sorry)

Post by Pete-B »

Hi, I've got an R Line which, come next week, will be three years old and is going in for it's third year service and first MOT on Friday next. I don't know too much about tyres but I've noticed on the front nearside one a small bulge in the wall which I'm told will be a MOT failure. The tyres have done about 22,500 miles and my first question is, should I replace both fronts.

My second question is, if so, with what, at the moment I've got Pirelli P Zero 235/35/ZR19 all round and the VV garage tells me they could fit like for like at £125 per tyre. I've called a few nationals like Bush, Kwik Fit, Black Circle etc but none of them are as cheap so I guess this is a good price, but, would it be advisable to use a different brand altogether on the fronts?

Thanks for any advice.

Replace both fronts.

That is a good price for P Zeros in that size. If you are happy with them then just replace like with like.

If you decide to change brands Goodyear F1 A3s and Michelin Pilot Sports are worth considering.

Tyres are such a subjective and personal thing it can be difficult to make your mind up:-)
