I dont have the service book at the moment so cannot check
Please can someone confirm what the 40k service involves on a 1.4 TSI? I believe it is spark plugs but what else is required?

Have a look in the service booklet, it clearly states what needs changing and when.

At 40k, I would do the following;
Engine oil and filter
Plugs
Air Filter
Cabin Filter
Brake Fluid - if more than 2 years since it was last replaced.
Fuel Filter - no longer a service item on petrol but I would change for peace of mind
