So I've been looking at a few scirocco's and after a lot of re searching I'm looking at getting a 2.0 tsi, MPG is great for a 2l turbo (most reviews say around 35mpg). So I'm looking at this example here; http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... 3192140476" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Now I have test drove the car and even thou I'm not a massive fan of auto's I really liked the DSG box. But my concern is how reliable is it? Also when I went from dsg to sport the car seemed a lot quick in sport auto then sport dsg? Is this normal? This version didn't have sat nav or a facelift dash but it's on my budget of 10k, and will I really use the sat nav that much.
Awesome looking car, I recently upgraded from a manual 1.4 160 to a 210 DSG and i would choose the DSG a thousand times over. The shifts are spot on and the paddle shifts are great fun, is it the 7 or 6 speed dsg?

2.0 litre has the 6 speed wet clutch DSG,
To the OP, DSG is generally reliable but if they do go wrong they are complex pieces of kit and can be expensive to fix. It's important that the DSG oil and filter are changed every 40K miles.
As with most things, the Internet and forums focus on the horror stories and not the hundreds of thousands of units with no issues.

Cheers! In this case get the DSG man, it's brilliant and listen to Cuprabob he knows his stuff!
Thanks for the replies. So in general the car is worth the money with the dsg box? I assume the change at 40k is part of the normal service? And on the sport and dsg issue. Is the car actually quicker in just sport then in dsg? Or was that just me over thinking

9k doesn't seem bad at all, but in the end it is truly your choice! Yeah the DSG change can be part of your service, try swindle the dealer into a few for free!
Sport doesn't change the speed it just changes gears at higher revs, for example it will change from 2nd to 3rd asap but in sport it'll hold it to the red line obviously with the paddle shifts you can change when you like maybe giving you the impression you are more in control?
Yeah I do really like the cars. Just the colour of this one I'm on and off with it. I am in a bit of a rush to get a car which don't help lol yeah maybe that was it then. Just put it in sport put foot down and was like that felt faster then using the paddles lol.

It's not something to be rushed man, I kinda rushed into getting the 1.4 160 which don't get me wrong, I loved it; but it didn't have the grunt of the 2 litre!
Don't know much about DSG, but what i will say is do not rush, it took me 4 months of looking to find my 2.0 TSI (manual), but i picked up a 2009 model with 50,000 in white for £9k only a couple of months ago, so this one does seem a tad expensive, but i don't know how much DSG adds
But colour was the big thing for me, most other options can be added, but changing the colour is a great expense if you aren't 100% keen on it

DSG usually adds around 1/1.5k to the price, at least what I've seen it does

Ouch......... give me a manual any day
Spending a lot of my time in traffic has stained my brain :'D
O yeah I get the not rushing bit. But I'm in need of a new car asap I don't have the luxury of waiting a few months . Been wasting my time looking at over priced 123d.

Unfortunatly they are not a car in great abundance on the 2nd hand car market, which is a pain when looking to buy, but once you own one they turn heads as you don't see them too often
