RCD510 - Touch Pad

Post by mtezel »

I recently traded in my 1.4 Rocco and bought a used Rocco R :D

It came with an RCD510, Bluetooth and a touch adapter.

My Iphone 6 Plus connects to the rdc510, I can make and receive phone calls no problem BUT

I can't seem to connect to the Touch Pad. It says pair device but when I try to pair it it doesn't connect :?

another thing I'd like to ask is why every time i start the car up, it decides to call the service number. So i have to press 'end call' on each start.

Then I have to de activate voice control on each start aswell

I don't understand what you mean by "touchpad". Can you explain a little more.

That touchscreen is the front end of the Bluetooth unit. If you're connected to Bluetooth then you're connected to that as well, because they're both part of the same Bluetooth system. Unless you have 2 Bluetooth kits installed of course.

Are you able to access the phone and Bluetooth functions on the screen of the RCD510, and control calls with the steering wheel controls?

Yes, all functions working from the RCD510 and steering wheel controls but the touchscreen says unable to connect.

Then I presume you have two Bluetooth kits installed. The Touch unit you show a picture of doesn't interact with the head unit at all, it simply mutes the sound output when you use it to make a call or one comes inbound. If you have Bluetooth function via the touchscreen on the RCD510 then you have an OEM bluetooth kit fitted (or a Fiscon kit perhaps) which is entirely separate to the touch pad you're trying to connect to.

I would remove the trim round the RCD510, remove the 4 Torx screws and pull the unit out. Once you get a look behind you'll probably find a load of wires and connectors, some of which will be for the OEM kit and others for the Touch kit. I would remove the Touch kit and get rid, as it's clearly interfering with or confusing the OEM kit.

Ok thanks Viking.

I'm guessing there will be some marks once I remove the touch pad but oh well.
