Next month I'll be taking the R on a bit of a Euro trip, however, is there a way to display a larger KPH readout on the MFD? I know the current KPH readout is on there, but I'm sure it'll drive me insane keep having to squint to see it in all it's piddly glory!
Secondly, do deflector strips work on bi-xenon headlamps? Or is there a method of adjusting the lights so that I don't get pulled by an irate Gendarme?
Sorry if I sound like a complete noob, but I thought I'd ask on here before the main dealer takes advantage of my ignorance / wallet

Re: Euro road prep
Be very careful relying on a VW dealer to give accurate information on headlight adjustment for Europe. Mine first assured me no adjustment was necessary for my R, but when I questioned this they checked further and said I needed to fit special stick-on strips from a VW kit. The fitting instructions in the kit they obtained for me were hopelessly unclear so I decided to get them fitted by the VW dealer. The technician assigned to the job also struggled to make sense of the fitting instructions and called in a colleague to help. Between them they arrived at what they thought was the correct placement of the strips, but they cannot have checked the effect on beam alignment because the result - which I only discovered after I got to France - was a disaster. Main beam was almost totally obscured, and what feeble dipped beam remained was deflected TOWARD oncoming cars! I had no choice but to remove the deflector strips entirely. The good news is that in a month of motoring in France with unmodified Xenons I was never once flashed by an oncoming driver. Good luck trying to sort this problem out, and if you do perhaps you could post the answer, because I got no replies to my enquiry on the R forum last year so it seems nobody really knows.
