what wires go where? heated seats.
Hi all, I have recently fitted the heated leather seats and the climate control panel with the seat switches. I have been to my local vw dealers to try and get the wires to connect them up but this is easier said than done...they don't seem to know any part numbers for the bits of loom I need?...so I got to thinking why don't I just get some wire and do it myself?...can someone give a definite answer to where the wires go...
Passenger side...
White goes to central electric control module...
Brown goes to earth
Blue/white goes to...seat switch?
Red/yellow goes to....?
Red/black goes to ....drivers seat?
Blue/purple goes to. ..drivers seat?
Blue/yellow goes to... drivers seat?
Drivers side...
Brown goes to earth
Blue/purple links to passenger seat?
Blue/yellow links to passenger seat?
Red/black links to passenger seat?
Any ideas anyone?

Re: what wires go where? heated seats.
I've gone one better...I've managed to get a complete interior loom!...I've done lots of searching on this and no one seems to have the answer so I will do a detailed how to as to where all the wires go when it turns up and I get the time . I have changed the non heated cloth trim to the OE heated leather so far and also changed the climate control unit to one with the heated seat switches (which I paid £40 delivered).

Re: what wires go where? heated seats.
I've just bought OEM leather seats (heated and electric lumbar) with plans to hopefully do exactly what you're doing, my current seats are cloth unheated. I've spoken to a few people and they say it's next to impossible to retrofit the seat heating wiring and I'll just have to leave them unheated, if you could keep us posted on progress that'd be brilliant!

I've got a complete interior loom from a 13 plate tdi r line. Tomorrow I'm going to unpick the wires I need and update my findings on here.

Re: what wires go where? heated seats.
ok, so I finally had the time to do the wiring on my seats...first I opened the box....
and unravelled the mess...
I located the plugs that I needed and started to unpick the tape...I do not recommend this as it is a bugger to do...there is no way you would get these wires out of a scrap car.. the only way is if the loom is in front of you.
after a couple of hours I ended up with this...
on the passenger seat there are 7 wires coloured as follows...
thick brown... this is an earth.
red and yellow...this goes to the fuse box...fuse number 37 which should be a 30 amp.
red and black...this joins up with the red and black on the drivers seat and then both go to the fuse box...fuse number 34 which should be a 15 amp.
blue and purple...this wire goes to the drivers seat and joins to the blue and purple on the seat connector.
white...this goes to the central electric control module..if you remove the lower dash panel on the drivers side and look above the accelerator pedal, you wil see 3 big plugs. 1 is black, 1 is white with a black locking clip and the other is white with a sandy coloured locking clip. you need the white with the black clip which looks like this...
I you look at the end where the wires go in, there are 2 tabs which, when moved, hold in the inner part of the plug...
this inner part then slides apart...
the white wire goes into the 4th small hole from the end...
there are 2 remaining wires , blue/yellow and a blue/white. The blue/yellow joins to the blue/yellow on the drivers seat then, along with the blue/white, go to the climate control unit in the dash... on the back of this there are 3 plugs marked A,B and C. you need plug A which looks like this...
the next picture shows the position of these 2 wires when fitted, blue/white to the outside and blue/yellow to the inner...
the only problem I can foresee if you are making your own loom is the connectors... the blue/white and blue/yellow for example...
the white wire also has this connector on the end...maybe maplins or the like sell these??....the connectors on the seats can just be cut off and each wire can be fitted with spade or bullet connectors.
The 4 wires from the drivers seat should be connected as follows...
thick brown...this is an earth.
blue/purple...should be joined to the blue/purple coming from the passenger side seat.
black/red...this should be joined to the black/red coming from the passenger seat then both go to fuse number 34 on the fuse box.
blue/yellow...this joins to the blue/yellow that comes from the passenger seat and then goes to the climate control unit in the dash.
all that is left to do is connect up to vcds...go to central electrics and find 'seat heating enabled'...check the box and hey presto...warm arse!!!
this was all done on a 61 plate (2011) scirocco gt tdi blue tech so if any wires are different then ??????? and if your car sets on fire its not my fault..
also, if the remaining loom is of any use to anyone, its in the for sale section for any reasonable offer.
hope this helps.

Those connectors look like VW PN: N 907 647 01 and are also available as repair wire PN: 000 979 009

Does anyone know if the golf mk6 heated seats loom can be used on the MY10 Scirocco?

Re: what wires go where? heated seats.
I have bought the Golf VI loom for heated seats only (seat and backrest), without lumbar heating for a LH drive.The loom is just universal with other VW models.
Downloaded all the electric diagrams.
So next step is to install the loom and seats.
Wiring diagram for 2010 MY.
Driver:
Pin 1: white ---> To CCM connector B pin 21
Pin 2: blue/white ---> To climatronic T20C pin 10
Pin 3: Red/yellow ---> To fuse 37 (30A)
Pin 4: Blue/yellow ---> To climatronic T20C pin 11
Pin 5: Brown ---> To ground point
Pin 10: purple/blue ---> To pin 10 passenger seat
Passenger:
Pin 4: Blue/yellow ---> To climatronic T20C pin 11
Pin 5: Brown ---> To ground point
Pin 10: purple/blue ---> To pin 10 driver seat
Edit: The golf VI loom to the passenger seat was not long enough for me and have to be extended a bit. (20-30 cm)
But there are only 3 wires on this side for a LHD so not that difficult. There were also 2 wire ends in the loom i didn't need, i measured them and they were electrical connected so 1 wire.

Re: what wires go where? heated seats.
Today i connected the last wires of the seat heating loom:
- Added a new 30A fuse (37) in the fusebox and made the connection
- 1 wire to the bcm
- 2 wires to the climatronic panel
- 2 wires to the ground point on a-pillar left
Coded the memory function of the seat heating level in the adaptation channel of the climatronic with vcds. And checked the bit in module 09 heated seats installed.
Now enjoying my hot ass . Next project is the facelift xenon with afs (dynamic cornering lights)

This looks a bit daunting. How difficult is it to just get the electric lumbar support working?

Almost the same amount of work, it uses the same harness + some adittional wiring.

Omg was going to try this until realised the amount of work. I presume can get someone to do this but what sort of cost would it be approx ?

Hi RoyRoy_01 wrote:The loom is 50 euro and around 6 hours work.
Did you connect the lumbar electrics also? And is the golf vi loom the correct one for the scirocco?
Just about to tackle this also!

Re: what wires go where? heated seats.
Hi, i only used the seat heating.
Extended the cable like 10-20 cm.
But maybe it fits when you find a better routing.
