Alright mate, Thanks for your help. I think I would be happier if it was the MAF as I sort of understand how they work. Ill give it a shot and stick an update up.Cuprabob wrote:

At least if it makes no difference you've ruled it out.

Re: EPC light on/off
Or for peace if mind you could clean/replace it anyway to rule it out?
And I would be very surprised to find out it was the throttle writing behind the accelerator pedal.
Can you see any obvious damage? Have you tried moving the wiring around at idle to see if lights come on or the idle fluctuates?
Best to rule out everything else and what you are left with is your issue.

Re: EPC light on/off
I have been looking up throttle body cleaning tonight to give that a shot to eliminate that option.
I cleaned the MAF on my 200sx, I think I used carburettor cleaner for that that I may still have lying about somewhere.
Havent tried wire fiddling but was gonna dedicate some time to all the options tomorrow.

I doubt carb cleaner will make the MAF sensor any better, be carefull with it.

Re: EPC light on/off
Mine has just done this, driving into work and the EPC pops on for about 30 seconds, been off now for 45mins, is this anything to worry about?

Re: EPC light on/off
Mine started like that. Came on once then went off. Didn't reappear for ages and then became more regular.
Wish I could offer some solid fixing advice, I tried a couple of things with no success. Ended up just wiggling and playing with the wires at the accelerator and it hasn't been on in about 3000 miles.

Re: EPC light on/off
I had the same. Sprayed the throttle body connectors with WD40 every six weeks and have not had he light on since. There is a VW fix which involves cutting the connector out and inserting a work around. However my auto technician is reluctant to replace three connections with six connections. Time will tell. Hope you find a workaround.

Re: EPC light on/off
I've had mine diagnosed as the throttle pedal anyone who had changed there's do you need to take the complete carpet out to get the the bracket which holds the pedal down I'm having problems trying to change mine, any advice would be helpful, cheers

Re: EPC light on/off
Changed my accelerator pedal to the metal style, no issues, don't need to remove carpet, was one bolt and then some fiddling with flat head screwdrivers in the gaps to make it click out and the unit removes. Best to get the replacement first then you will see the mechanism and how to remove it will be clearer.
