Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
Eureka ! That's it - the chassis number.
Take the square root of your your chassis number, multiply that by the diameter of your wheels in inches and finally divide that result by the two digits on your number plate. If the answer is a prime number then - Bingo ! - you have the mirror down function.
So obvious ! I'm surprised I did get it earlier.

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
Does anyone know if its possible to have this functionality on a 1.4 TSI - without the highline computer?
Have we figured out if this is a purely a software issue yet, or if there is some bizzare hardware requirement?

Jon,jonallen628 wrote:Jim, is your profile correct? Do you have folding mirrors? You seem to be the exception to the rule at the minute, no folding mirror option but have the mirror down function.jim68585 wrote:Sorry - not checked back here for a while. Interesting to see that martdy doesn't have xenons, so looks like that can be excluded from the equation. Got it working by following previous guidance on here or scirocconet - ie select left on mirror control, then put box into reverse. Manuallly adjust mirror to where you want it in future when selecting reverse. Leave mirror on L setting. Drive away >5mph. Mirror should adjust back to normal. Select reverse again with mirror still on L. Should then move down to position as set previously.thebeast1234 wrote:Hi Jim,
Thanks for that, in that case can you tell me what spec yours is then I can compare?
And how did you get it working?
Sorry for the late reply - been away on holiday. Yes my spec is correct, in that I do NOT have folding mirrors. Not sure whether that is helpful or not

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
Thanks for the reply, just confirms that there is no logic behind whether or not you get the function certainly not one that is linked with a particular option anyway. It could be down to software levels on the Cluster but i am not sure how you can check this, maybe with VAGCOM.

Just to add my comments, I have the mirror down function and it works great. My spec includes the folding mirrors.

I have an 04/09 car with winter pack and do not have the mirror down option. Don't have electric seats, or folding mirrors

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
Sorry to bring this thread back up but I came across the following from an Audi forum...
Enabling reverse mirror tilt on cars without memory seats:
Go to module 52 Door Elect, Pass., Long Coding, Byte 4. If the byte has value 40 (cars without electrically folding mirrors), change it to 4C. If the byte has value 50 (cars with folding or folding/dimming mirrors), change it to 5C. Afterwards when reversing and the mirror knob is in passenger position the passenger side mirror will tilt while on reverse to better show the curb. Without memory seats it is currently not known if the tilt can be adjusted, it seems to default to a standard amount according to reports (see links below, thanks to EuroDan and Unisurfer). It was reported by -V- (here in Finnish: http://www.ultimatevw.com/keskustelu/in ... 3&sivu=185" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) that 4C won't work in some cars, but value 44 instead does. This probably has to do with equipment levels. Ross-Tech has updated their VCDS/VAG-COM software data to include relevant bits with descriptions, so you can more easily try different combinations.
Its detailed on: http://www.geocities.com/a6retrofit/art ... codes.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Not had chance to investigate this but its worth a shot!
Will have a chance to play next weekend unless someone gets there first!

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
I have folding mirrors and have mirror down on reverse. My dealer said its only on cars with folding mirrors that have this option. Its nothing to do with winter pack, as winter pack has no effect on the mirrors. Mines a 2010.

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
I'm pretty sure you have to have the folding mirrors option. Then you have to leave the rotary switch in the L position.

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down
I have no option for mirror down on my MFD, it just does it if you leave the mirror switch on the passenger side mirror. the only option I have for the mirrors in the MFD is both mirrors adjust together. Had a look this morning. Seems to be no two cars the same out there! All I could suggest is that maybe a lot of people have this option but think they dont cos they have no option in the MFD. Try sticking the car in reverse and then adjust the passenger mirror down to where you want it, then drive off and see if it goes back up, if so, you've got it! If not, you dont!!
