I just wanted to be sure but is the RNS 510 sat nav the standard fitted sat nav system on 2009+ VW's? I have similar systems in both my 59 plate CC and 09 plate Roc? The display colours are ever so slightly different but generally work the same.
My Polish father-in-law can get genuine European Map updates in Poland for about £30 in English as there isn't much demand for these there.
Just wanted to get the model right. Normally on most electrical items there is an option on screen to display models and versions etc.
Any help and advice would be appreciated!

Re: RNS 510 sat nav
Difference in screen colours will be just the different "skin" colours or themes. There are three different colours (Highline - Sportsline - Premium) depending on what model car they're from. See here...

The units are essentially the same, but just different colours applied, and these can be changed with VCDS.

We have the 310/315 unit in our car, if I upgraded it to the 510 do I lose the DAB we have or is it modular?

You will lose the DAB unless you upgrade to an RNS510 with DAB which are rarer and more expensive than the normal RNS510.Pomsteroonie wrote:We have the 310/315 unit in our car, if I upgraded it to the 510 do I lose the DAB we have or is it modular?
Note you will also lose Bluetooth.
Re: RNS 510 sat nav
If you have DAB you'll have the RNS315 as the RNS310 didn't have DAB. As said, you'll need to upgrade to a DAB RNS510 to retain the digital radio you currently have, and also add a Buetooth module as it's most likely the Bluetooth is built into the RNS315 head unit. Unless your RNS315 is one without Bluetooth and you DO have a separate Bluetooth alreadyPomsteroonie wrote:We have the 310/315 unit in our car, if I upgraded it to the 510 do I lose the DAB we have or is it modular?
