Audio on 2010 model
Hi all, I have just ordered a Scirocco and the dealer has said that the audio unit is a RCD510 with 6CD thing in the armrest, I said that I had no need for the CD bit as I only require the iPod mdi bit, which in the brochure is in place of the CD mounted armrest unit, however, they got back to me and said both are now supplied...is this true? If so, where is the mdi placed (they say it might be in the glovebox)...apologies if this is elsewhere on the board.

Re: Audio on 2010 model
RCD510 has the 6CD changer built into the unit, therefore the empty space in the arm rest will be taken up by the MDI (iPod etc)
Dealer has got confused with the RNS510 which doesn't have the CD changer built into due to the HDD for the Sat Nav.
PS the RCD510 will play mp3 cd's as well!

It has but don't worry about it these things are never easy to find.Jed wrote:apologies if this is elsewhere on the board.

What's the sound like on the standard stereo? What's the advantage of upgrading to Dynaudio?

Without wishing to appear a duffer
Does the RNS510 get the separate charger in the armrest as standard ?
I didn't think it did

Whichever, same thing no ?
A box in the armrest which you can load 6 CDs into to be played by the head unit in the dash

The head unit has the CD changer built in. The arm rest has a port inside for the iPod/USB cable to be plugged into, plus an aux jack point on the outside.

Re: Audio on 2010 model
With the RNS510 (sat nav) the CD changer is an option that replaces the iPod connection in the armrest. There is no built in CD changer, instead the unit has a built in DVD player and hard drive.ABN1C wrote:The head unit has the CD changer built in.
