Turn signals LED's
Hey folks,
I recently bought some Dectanes front turn signals/side lights, and they stopped working. Got refund and now I'm going to buy H&R. But, I don't like stock turn signals on front. There is a orange lens/reflector that gives a orange look even when lights are off. So, I will open it and remove that crap. Since the light bulb is white, I need to buy some LED's. What do you recommend for front turn signals?

Re: Turn signals LED's
This is something I've actually done. However the only LEDs I found in the correct bulb fitment didn't actually fit into the light unit. I'm currently using orange bulbs with a slight tint on the lens of the unit, looks good and you can't see the orange in it.
A quick pic to give you the idea:
This is the kinda thing you're looking:

They cost about £4-5 each though!

Looks great bud. I personally like the tint on a white Rocco, but mine is Rising Blue, don't like on mine. How did you open the turn light/side light unit? I think the only way is to make a hole in it on top and remove that orange lens ahaha

Bougt these LEDs with turn signal
Old on left, new on right

Those LED's look like ExLED. Personally, I think I'm never going to buy that kind of units again. Already bought Dectane's front indicator/side light, and they last 4 months. I asked for refund. Got my money back. It's been a month already. I love my Rocco but don't like what VW did on turn signals. They used a stupid orange filter.

I used a Dremil type too to cut the front lens off then removed the orange filter and then used a 2 part epoxy to stick it back together. UKTom on here cut a hole in the top of the unit and removed the orange filter so both methods work.SPEEDDRV wrote:Looks great bud. Thank you my friend. I will cut a hole in the top of the unit. I don't have Dremil. I'm planning to buy this LED's.Paddy_R wrote:I used a Dremil type too to cut the front lens off then removed the orange filter and then used a 2 part epoxy to stick it back together. Re: Turn signals LED's
Alright folks. Those LED's don't fit. I saw Paddy's topic. I want a solution. Really hate that orange thing when lights are off. Just horrible. It's a shame VW did that. So, I will probably just tint film it. Or use plasti dip. Do you recommend it? Mine is Rising Blue. Do you guys have any pics of a Blue Rocco with sidelights/turn lights tinted?

Re: Turn signals LED's
I never did find a solution and ended up with the orange bulbs. You can get short bulbs (in orange) that would be unnoticeable.

Re: Turn signals LED's
I think I found a way! It's pretty simple actually. There are a few adapters. It's a resistor to prevent errors. Well, you connect one part of the resistor to the H21W. The other end its whatever you want. It might be whatever you want that fits. I'm going to try that.
