Once my 2.0 TSI (180 BHP) arrives I was wondering if there is a chip you can get done to take it up to 220 BHP?
Also, if there is, would having it done effect the manufacturers warranty?
Know any companies that do it?

It's not the 90's anymore ... Chips belong in McDonald's ...
VW Scirocco GT 170 in shadow blue metallic with vienna leather, cruise control, parking radar, nav, bluetooth and dynaudio sound system. Remapped and shortshift fitted.

Depends on your warranty provider however every one I've looked at is invalid if you alter the Ecu (remap)

Re: Does a Chip effect the warranty?
I would imagine all engine remaps would effect your warranty!
What your looking for is a stage 1 remap. If your buying a new car then a Revo remap may be available, if not I'm sure it won't be long before they make one available (probably working on it now)
There are quite a few companies around offering Revo, APR etc remaps for scirocco's and Golfs, there may even be places that do custom remaps although I'd always recommend tried and tested ones like Revo and APR for example.

It would affect your warranty yes so if you want to get it "mapped" then that's up to you.smilesapart wrote:Once my 2.0 TSI (180 BHP) arrives I was wondering if there is a chip you can get done to take it up to 220 BHP?

Re: Does a Chip effect the warranty?
I'm in the border between Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire.
By the sounds of it I had better wait until it is out of warranty!
Obviously I've shown my age talking about 'chips' rather than a 'remap' but I've been driving a 13 year old Ford Puma and a Land Rover Defender for the past few years - so that's my excuse for not being up with the lingo!

Try phoning Vagtech in Milton Keynes (near the stadium MK), they seem like a reputable company for Revo remaps, thinking about getting my 2.0TSI done there (stage 1).
Have a look at their website.......www.vagtech.co.uk
