help about my new scirocco

Post by jazz123 »

just brought a 6 month old scirocco 2.0 tdi 184 dsg rline

in love with the car but having trouble with the dealership where I purchased it

just looking from some advice

I purchased the car and then noticed that the parcel shelf , mats , first aid kit and warning triangle are all missing from the car

I appreciate that I should have noticed this but I really feel that the dealership should have checked that the car was complete prior to handing it over

or am In the wrong for not noticing this

what do you all think?

Hi jazz123, I'm sorry but you don't get a first aid kit or warning triangle as standard, you have nice places for them but you don't get them. Obviously you should have a rear parcel shelf. I know my new R-line came with mats so you would hope a six month old car should, unless who ever had it first kept them.

When I bought mine there was no parcel shelf in it (it was 3 years old at the time) and I made the sales man take one out of another car they had before I signed for it. In the past (back in the good old 6x9 days) however I have bought many a parcel shelf out of a scrap yard and never paid more than £10 for it.

Thanks for the replys

The dealership are ordering a new one for me
Just annoyed as its only 6 months old and has only ever been at the dealership as a demo car so no real excuse for mats and parcel shelf to go missing

But seems to all be sorted now

As a positive you'll have a new set of mats and not a 6 month old set:-)

Definitely the dealer should provide a parcel shelf, and I've just ordered an R-Line and was assured the mats came with it as standard.
If it was a demonstrator and they are both missing I wouldn't be surprised if they had taken them out for another car at some point and never bothered to order replacements.
