Storing the Scirocco. Help please!

Post by Guest2 »

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone had laid up a Scirocco for up to 3months at a time and if so you could give me some advice? i was just going to take off the battery, leave the bonnet down but not firm shut, not lock her, Leave her in "P" with handbrake off.

Think thats ok?

Should be fine. I had work in Dubai and Abu Dhabi at the start of the year and my stay there got extended by a couple of months. School boy error i didn't detach the battery and came home to a dead car.

Cool cheers for the reply guys. Nice to know that we can hopefully (fingers crossed) just leave her and then she will be fine after a while. Didn't know if because of all the electronics and stuff if she would be ok or not.

Would definitely leave the handbrake off, so long as the car is in gear or 'P'.

Well got her in the garage after a struggle. The Scirocco really is a wide car. She only just got through the door! She's also quite long. Didn't expect to have any problems getting her in, but was surprisingly difficult. Anyway, got there in the end with some help from my mum backing me in etc...!

Took off the battery, left bonnet open. Should do the trick.

Cheers for all the help. :)
