Servicing Costs

Post by hama »

For most of us, the next few months will bring out the first servicing. Had mine done this morning but I was surprised at the cost differences: I checked around a few VW service centres and ended up going to a familiar place which also happened to be the cheapest at £100 all in.

Just why would other VW centres charge upwards of £190 if they're following the same regime?

I went to VW service and checked price list. I seems like my scirocco will cost me around $270 box for first service.

This is the first service of a new car I've ever had, didn't haggle for it to be included in the deal, didn't haggle for a thing, was too bedazzled at the time to be honest.

My service included an interior valet, £40 of oil, replenished screen wash and an additional bottle as well. I was impressed to be honest, all for a hundred quid. I do wonder now, though, if there is indeed a set routine VW service centres have to follow, given the wide ranging prices different garages offer.

hama, this is my 3rd new car that I have had , and EVERY car company offers you different things / 'sweetners' to buy the car and part with your cash, you have to do your research first mate lol! They even have different rates for servicing. Even then, paying top dollar servicing fees does not guarentee you a valet or good service unfortunately. I was luck and managed to get a few freebies (I got mine in November - so discounts were barely recognisable!) and that included 3 years free servicing. I was very happy with that

Hey just out of curiosity are you noticing any differences in the car, such as does the engine feel better, fuel consumption, etc. First oil is supposed to be super dirty because the engine is running in, what they told me is that the car should feel better after and the fuel consumption would drop a bit...
