Cleaning tailpipes?

Post by simon2015uk »

I have recently bought a Rocco 2.0 TSI but the tailpipes could do with a bit of a shine up, any recommendations on how to do so/or buy addons??

Cheers guys!

Autosol metal polish with some fine grade wire wool. Or microfibre cloth.

I use auto finesse murcury which is similar. But mine are like new so just a wipe with a cloth and apc does it for me.

Use Coke. I realise this sounds stupid, but coke on a cloth works perfect.

As in coca cola. Just to confirm.

Polish and wire wool, cheap and easy, gives a brushed Aluminium look though that I like.

Depends what you want if a sparkly polished look you need to be getting a metal polish and cloth and going to town on it or soaking them in coke is said to work

Autosol and a cloth to get the most of it off.
Then Autosol and 0000 wire wool to get that super finish!
Anything less fine than 0000 grade will scratch/dull the finish eg 000 grade

Is 0000 wire Wool superior/easier than just a micro fibre cloth then?

I only use the 0000 grade wool sometimes. It makes it much easier to get off the hard to move bits.
Most of the time I just use an old rag as that Autosol stuff and exhaust dirt just destroys a microfiber.
