Bump :D
Going in soon. I'm pretty tight for money this month sadly. But can stretch if its a good idea to replace parts!
Done 35000 will have the car for another 20000 worth replacing the throw out bearing?

I thought I replied to this, clearly not.

Well, since you are pretty sure you are getting rid in 20,000 miles, I wouldnt change the throw-out bearing if warranty dont 100% cover it. The problem is only prominent in winter, and I am not sure it has led to many clutch failures YET... I suspect it would ultimately shorten the clutch life of the car in the long term

Thanks for the reply.
Ok ill not replace that then. Looking at the TPI i don't think they would do anything with the Throw-out bearing under warranty.
Is that right?

Hi Selley, based on my experience in the other thread (you've probably read it) I wouldn't recommend going through the crap i'm enduring if you're getting rid of the car in 20k miles. If your car doesn't fall under the TPI's chassis range it looks like you'll get fobbed off regardless of what you say or do, even with warranty (which I have).

Just my 2 cents :(

I will see what they say about the TPI and take it from there. Be nice if they fix it under warranty.
I used
https://erwin.volkswagen.de/erwin/showHome.do
To get all the documents for my car. You put in your vin number.
So I have a print out TPI with all my car details on it. So I would assume this means its related to my exact car.

I also downloaded all the service/maintenance manuals.
Well worth it was only £5 for an hour.
Just download everything :)

Hmm thanks i think i'll give it a go. For the sake of a fiver I guess I don't have much to lose, particularly if my car is within the chassis range after the dealer has told me it isn't!

The only thing that could cause a further issue is if VW UK or the dealer says it isn't valid for whatever reason because it is a website from VW germany, other than that I think this website would be a good source of info. Thanks

update: tried to pay for the hour's access to vehicle info but it won't accept payment type across all 3 of my credit cards haha. I'm fated not to make any progress on this issue :P

Hi Sxanth, at the moment I'm under warranty and finding it impossible to get it done so there's no black and White answer on this topic I'm afraid
