Help!!!
So, I asked for a call back ages ago for an extended warranty - They called back today... I have until 6pm tonight to choose what level of cover I want otherwise its going to be the lapsed price ( which is over £200p.a more!)
Which level should I choose? Comprehensive?
Thanks!

VW used warranty or 3rd party?
Also what prices were they quoting?

Sounds like Mondial; in my experience that employ hard sales tactics if they sense the deal is not going their way. Interesting that they call you just as you're about to move into a lasped situation, such that it's a 'one-day' deal only.
Can't believe the difference would be 200 - was a matter of tens when they tried to pull that with me. (Long story, but ended up with a complaints to VW customer service - I've posted on it).
Having said all that, how they honour or not their warranties is another matter: haven't had to call on mine.
As to level of cover, that's a personal decision but for the prices they were quoting for my 1.4, I settled on paying 201 for fully comp, rather than regret otherwise. Think it was around 260-270 for the 2.0?

My only comment is go for the £100 excess with the VW extended warranty. I saved £60 on one year's premium.

Hi - well I made the decision to go for comprehensive with £0 excess. for the sake of a few extra quid, I don't want to have to pay a penny I anything goes wrong.
I got the Service manager at my local vw to call back, he has always gone the extra for me and I find him a very decent chap. he recommended it ( and he could of sold me the 'inchcape' cover if he wanted). He said items were fixed usually without any quibble and in his experience it had been pretty hassle free.
I wasn't happy about the pressured sales and I will be complaining... I actually called the place where I purchased the car and they guy there was just plain rude, so I will add that in too.
thanks for the replies all.

I'm in the same situation, received a letter that my 12 month warranty expires soon and I could purchase an extended warranty if I wanted. So do you guys think it's worth it? My car is 7yrs old with less than 30k on the clock
