RNS 310 I phone 6 compatibility issues....
Just purchased two new things, Iphone 6 & MDI cable for the Roc Big problem device not supported on both Iphone 5 & 6. So this leads me to think its a firmware issue which on seat site they have the update, has anyone had the same issue if so how was it rectified? I popped into VW today happy helpful guy said il get back to you tomorrow lets wait and see... All a bit different when they are trying to sell you the car
Its not like the iphones language has changed just a later version of the IOS which im currently running on the old lead and Iphone 4 so bit lost really!

When you say you've purchased a mdi cable, is it the Lightning mdi lead you've bought? If so it must have the White collar around it, if it's the green collar it won't work.

Re: RNS 310 I phone 6 compatibility issues....
I have had no end of problems with my iPhone 5s and my car.
I purchased the white collared MDI cable from TPS and it did work for a short term but kept cutting out. I tried MDI and RNS firmware updates but no joy. Spoke to VW and they said it is a know issue and were working on an MDI update.
Best solution I found is to buy the genuine Apple 30-pin to lightning adapter. Then use the 30-pin MDI cable. Works great for me at the moment.

Re: RNS 310 I phone 6 compatibility issues....
I recently switched to an iPhone 6 and after reading about connectivity issues was a little concerned it would all work ( 2012 rns510) but as per the other post, using the original vw 30 pin Apple mdi cable and a genuine 30 pin to lightning adapter and so far it's all ok. Non genuine ones only seem to support charging, so in this case ensure you get a genuine one.

Yea its a bit frustrating that the VW MDI cable does not work.
My advice would be buy the adapter with the 0.2m extention on it, the basic adapter can be a bit short if you try and put the phone under the armrest.

I would second that, we bought both types and the Apple converter with the 0.2m cable is by far the better converter as you're not putting a physical strain on the converter's connections.martynk87 wrote:Yea its a bit frustrating that the VW MDI cable does not work.
