Hi All, had my 59 plate gt a few months now and have just come to reinsure it, basically what i wanted to know if the standard alarm is thatcham cat 1 approved as any money off the dreaded premium is a bonus?

Yes, stand fit alarm and immobiliser fitted to the Scirocco is Thatcham Cat 1 approved.

Thought it was and just put that to Admiral and its made no difference to my insurance whatsoever! Apparently they are only interested in immobilisers and trackers!

As above the standard is a cat 1 alarm & immobiliser!
