Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Really want piano black dash trim pieces but I can't justify paying the price of them from The stealers. So the next best thing is either wrap my current ones or spray mine. didn't want to spray them that way I can revert to factory.
so that left me with wrapping them. I haven't got any gloss black vinyl and couldn't find any decent stuff cheap.
I had some spare carbon fibre vinyl lying around from when I wrapped my laptop. So I was bored yesterday and decided to wrap them . This is how they look. I decided to leave the centre console as it is because I think it breaks up the black dash nicely. Obviously not as good as piano black trim and I know not everyone is into carbon fibre. I'm not usually a fan of it but think it looks ok . It's also a change from the silver For now.

I really like the carbon fibre, you should do the middle too but it's probably a bit more tricky, I can't wrap for sht myself.
Try plasti dip, put a few coats of laquer over it for the gloss look but it's still easy to remove afterwards.

I would if I had some more. I only had a small amount left. was my 2nd time doing it. Worst bit is corners trying to get it nice and smooth with no creases.

Yes mate just pops straight off. Most awkward one was the smallest one to the left of the steering wheel .AxG wrote:Does the trim just pop out ?

A mate of mine painted my trim but any auto refinisher will be a fraction of the stealers price. I have worked in the thermoforming industry and don't understand how the dealers work out their prices for trim [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]whiteDevil_170 wrote:Really want piano black dash trim pieces but I can't justify paying the price of them from The stealers. Finally got my dampers delivered and fitted straight away! Such a difference. Both looks and convenience. Apologies for the dirty car and engine bay, it's been a long week already! [emoji41]

Looks good. But like I said didn't want to get mine sprayed in case I wanted to revert back to stock silver.MattAy wrote:A mate of mine painted my trim but any auto refinisher will be a fraction of the stealers price. Who would want to revert back to silver
I started with carbon,
but now all gloss black.
GLOSS BLACK ALL THE WAY
Theres no such thing as "grey area" im just plain and simple "black & white"
