How do, I know this is a long shot as its the wrong type of forum but expect the underlying mechanics are similar between cars.
I'm going to be buying a 2nd hand Golf MK7 TDi in a couple of weeks and the one i'm getting has (to me) a concerned whine noise it makes when turing the steering wheel stationary. It seems a bit odd to me but I know the person who is selling the car and has had it since new and its not caused any issues.
I've never heard such noises on an VW I've had so this just seemed odd. There is warranty on this car so contemplated getting it in for inspection when i get it.

Re: Golf MK7 steering whine
A golf question!!! How DARE you.....
Best way to fix it is buy a SCIROCCO
I would say if its under warrenty just get it looked at before you commit.
Probably something silly or simple tbh.
Make sure to report back what you find.
