Handbrake removal? Please help

Post by warrenlord »

Hi

Can anyone tell me how you remove the leather handle part on the handbrake ? I've got a ETKA brake down but it doesnt show have to pull it's off.

The hand brake button seems to be rattling around like crazy on the motorway.

Thanks

Looking in the service manuals, you have to lift the lever as far as it will go, you should then be able to see a slot on the underside of the lever just where the leather ends. Insert a screwdriver into the slot and release the clip, then slide off forwards. I've not done this myself, so take your time and go gently at first as the service manuals have a habit of making tasks seem effortless when they're anything but.
